Anthony Penna
With his passion for food installed at a young age the influences for sharing great food with Family and friends were guided by his late Grandmothers, Mother and Mother-in-law alike.
As it was his passion Anthony made this his career by leaving the mining transport industry of 22 years and purchasing the already established Pietro Ristorante Italiano. Being a weekly regular to this restaurant Anthony knew he could give it the love and energy it deserved.
In July 2021 Anthony purchased Pietros and rebranded to Pietro Italian Ristorante or as we are affectionally known Pietro Italian and quickly established the “new” Pietros reputation for serving some of the best southern style Italian cuisine in the west.
Together with his Team they take both pride and passion in serving traditional dishes that have been past through generations.
Thanks to guidance, dedication, respect and hard work Anthony and his Pietro Family have received numerous awards and will continue to strive in excellence in every dish served.

It has amazing food, drinks/cocktails and good coffee.
We were lucky enought to meet the owner who is passionate about the heritage of the building and making the ristorante shine which we think It has definately achieved.

The food was decent, although it was a bit odd that the Arancini is advertised on the menu as 'rice balls' but is a single large ball. This was a surprise when it came out. The garlic bread and pizza were pretty good. The wait also wasn't too bad for a Saturday night.
However, my first impression when we got there - the door was locked. Someone must have flicked the handle locked. While this isn't the restaurants fault, I thought someone might see us struggling to get in and let us in; we could only get in when another customer exited, and were confused if we were even in the right place.
The owner/manager was nice and helped us out when we called earlier in the day as we didn't receive a confirmation for our online bookingn
It was also pretty hot in there and the aircon above us was busted, so only one other in the dining room worked. I probably wouldn't dine in here again.

We had the most beautiful experience at Pietro Italian Restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and so accommodating — they truly make you feel like part of the family.
The food was absolutely superb. My husband ordered the veal, which was tender and full of flavour, and I chose the anchovy and olive pizza — perfectly balanced, generous toppings and a beautiful crisp base.

Came here with my dad, my wife, and our newborn daughter. When she started getting unsettled, the owner Anthony kindly offered to hold her and walked her around so we could finish our meal. That level of care and warmth meant a lot to us.

Great Location! Easily worth the 10min drive from penrith. Food was decently priced and very good. Will be back so we can try more of the pizzas and pasta. The entrie of salt and pepper calamari was a big portion size and the servive was amazing Anthony was running the show like a real profesional and very nice to chat with.
Also the grounds and building are really something special for the penrith region.

We took the chance tonight to check out Pietro’s without a booking and they were absolutely packed! We were lucky enough to be able to dine in and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. Underwhelming. When I think of Italian food I think of generosity. When my $32.50 meatball pasta comes out with 3 small meatballs I was confused. Good thing my wife or son didnt ask to try my dish I would only have one left. The meatballs were lovely and so was the sauce. But 3 meatballs for a $32.50. The pumpkin ravioli was over powered by lemon and you couldn't taste the pumpkin. You couldn't taste the beef in the tortellini and it didnt even have any texture of meat. But again the sauce was lovely. The garlic bread was too doughy. We were even asked to hold onto our cutlery from our entre.This place used to be special...I even told all of my friends to visit it when they were at Warragamba.

We were so excited to go back to pietro Italian restaurant to try the new Location. We shouldn't have continued with our booking after the owner on the phone told us he normally doesn’t allow large group booking (we were a booking of 12) to order off the main menu, it normally has to be the set menu because someone might only order a salad! We make the booking anyway and went only to get serviced by a girl that didn’t know the drink menu she went Back-and-forth four times till she finally took the order for one drink. We weren’t allowed to order jugs of soft drinks as jugs are only for group bookings over 15. We weren’t allowed to order our mains when we’re ordering entrees after the entrees came out it was over an hour when we ordered mains, the owner told us the special but wouldn’t let my sister take a photo of the menu to show her husband who was in the bathroom. the food was ok nothing like it use to be, the prices have gone up and the serving sizes have gone down significantly. We won’t be back which is a shame as we loved pietros.

Found this gem whilst looking for highly rated Italian restaurants. We came here for a date night and it did not disappoint. Everything was exceptional from the service, ambiance and the food. We love that we have found a local authentic Italian restaurant that we can go to.

Both the drink and food menu had so many great options. Everything we tried was delicious. We shared both a pizza and a pasta dish, and they were both fantastic. After googling for authentic italian restaurants around me and reading reviews, my husband and I ended up choosing pietro. This place didn’t disappoint. The service was great, staff very welcoming, and ambience of the place fitted the date-night vibe. We ordered the bruschetta pizza, I wish I had words to describe that pizza base! We demolished the whole pizza in less that 5mins. I loved my Garlic prawns risotto, cooked to perfection and it was delicious. My husband also enjoyed his meatballs fettuccine. Pietro really exceeded expectations, it won’t be long until we go back— with the whole family this time!

Wow wow wow, the food was amazing, we ordered the gnocchi with carbonara sauce, it was honestly the best gnocchi I’ve had.
We also ordered the Aless pizza, it was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing.
The service was top shelf, the staff looked after all our needs, offered complimentary meat balls for my son and our table which was so delicious. The owners came over and introduced them selves and were down to earth and had a great sense of humour sort of reminding me of the old rocky movies accept the owner isn’t a boxer but a very kind man.

We had a great time dining and the kids also had some more play time after lunch at the park across the road before heading home.
What a find! Delicious authentic Italian food. We ordered classic spag bol, arancini, cheese pizza and the special of the day - lamb shank with mash.

We went up for an unplanned meal with friends Saturday night. Our friend had a food allergy which we notified anthony about. Usually we get alot of grief but not Anthony.
He went above and beyond and went through the menu and told which he could work with to accommodate us.
The food was fresh and fantastic, service was great and we had a good laugh with them.

All the staff were so friendly, accommodating and attentive! The food is always so fresh. We had the meatballs on arrival, pizza and pasta and honestly, we could not have fit in one more bite. The food quality / portion size is 10/10. We travel all the way from the city because the atmosphere and service is incomparable.

We have been here on many occasions, we drive from Penrith. Ample food as they cater per head and bring multiple dishes out. You will not be left hungry. Great atmosphere and great food. Well worth the drive to have a meal.
